This is the 150th year anniversary for the historic Battle of Gettysburg. We have reserved a campsite in the National Park on the battlefield for 35 people. We are planning on going July 26 – 28th. We will need to leave early Friday morning, it takes about 6 hours to drive to Gettysburg. We will set up camp, and then plan to hike the Historic Gettysburg trail through Downtown (3 miles) and then visit the Visitors Center and National Cemetery. On Saturday, we will hike the Billy Yank Trail all day (9 miles). On Sunday, we will pack up camp, hike the Johnny Reb trail (3 miles) and then visit Eisenhower National Historic Site. We will then plan to drive home (exhausted). These 5 events will allow us to earn the 5-part patch above.
