Summer Camp Information

Here are a couple of MUST DOs to get ready for Summer Camp on 06/21.
#1.  Health Form – Parts A, B, and C must be filled out.  This means you need a doctor’s signature.  The link to the health form is located on the troop website at Click on the link on the right side of the home page.  Download directly by clicking HERE.  You have to have a date for the last tetnus shot on the form!!
#2.  Uniform – It is mandatory each night for Flag Retreat and dinner that the scouts wear the full uniform.  This means the following:
  • Class A Uniform Shirt
  • Black neckerchief
  • Red neckerchief slide
  • Official Boy Scout Shorts
  • Boy Scout socks (provided by troop in next couple of weeks.)
  • Hiking Boots or Brown or Black trail shoes.

Athletic shorts, neon knee socks, and bright blue sneakers can be worn another time except for Flag Retreat.

#3.  Wednesday Family Night Dinner – parents need to be in camp 5:15 to watch the scouts march to the parade field.  You cannot park on the road, there is a large parking lot right past the admin building.  After retreat, we will meet back in camp for dinner.  Pizza will be provided.  Bring your OWN drinks (no alcohol) and paper and plastic plates and utensils.
A-I – Bring Cold Salads, pasta, vegetable, fruit, potato salads, bean etc.
J-Q – Bring desserts, cookies, cup cakes, banana pudding, etc.
R-Z – Bring Hot side dishes, potato casserole, baked beans, etc.  (Reed’s are bringing Macaroni and Cheese)
After dinner, you can tour the camp with your scout and at 8:30, there is a Skit/campfire program.
INFORMATION:  There are fees and prerequisites for the merit badges the scouts are going to do at camp.  You can go to, > Summer Camp  > 2015 Program Guide.  Download directly by clicking HERE.  This booklet is pretty comprehensive.  For new parents, it is a great reference for what will happen that week.
Make sure you come to next Sunday’s meeting, as the scouts need to advise which merit badges they are taking prior to camp.
