  • Liability forms– we can turn them in as a group and some will be available at camp.  The form is also attached to this email.
  • Activity- We will be building the water balloon catapults, make sure to refresh yourselves on lashings
  • For Tenderfoot, Using the EDGE method, you need to teach another person how to tie the square knot.  This is the campout to take advantage of this with the Cub Scouts of 3170.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

Bring a tent if you have one.
Bring mess kits
Bring bikes, only can bring if you have bike helmet.
Cost is $25 per person includes 6mile canoe, port-o-potty rental, and food.
We are next to a river, so bring water shoes and swim trunks.Meet at Moose Club at 6pm on Friday, I expect we will return around 11:00 or earlier, we will call and give better time on Sunday.

PIG GIG – DAY TRIP ONLY (EARN CHEMISTRY MERIT BADGE)

Saturday 09/08 – Cost is $12 per person.  It includes dinner, a patch, and of course, the coursework for the Chemistry merit badge.  Let’s plan on leaving the Moose Club around 7:30 am.  We will be gone the whole day, getting back around 11:00 or so.  I need adults to drive.  Please email me at steve.reed@ameritech.net to advise if you want to go.

Sunday 09/09 Meeting – BOARD OF REVIEWS

If you have not had your Scoutmaster Conference for Tenderfoot, you will need to demonstrate that you know how to tie the following knots and tell what their uses are: two half hitches and the taut-line hitch.   I cannot pass you if you cannot tie these two knots without help.

Monday 09/10 – PASTA DINNER AT SARAH’S VINEYARD

The Pasta Dinner fundraiser is Monday, September 10 at Sarah’s Vineyard.  Please begin to invite family and friends to our event.  A flyer about the event is attached.  Advance reservations and payment is recommended to ensure seating.  A reservation form is at the bottom of the attached flyer.

Also, volunteers will be needed to help with the event.  If we get enough help, there will probably be two shifts.  Scouts who will be serving first shift will need to arrive by 4:15 pm.  Adults will be needed to help that evening as well.  Additionally, a few adults will be needed to help set-up late afternoon on Sunday, September 9 and early afternoon on that Monday.

If you can help for any of these times, please contact Roberta Conroy directly at rkconroy@windstream.net or 330-524-2484.  Thank you for your support!

Thanks, Steve.
